Oto-rhino-laryngology (aka Ear, Nose & Throat, or ENT) is the branch of medicine that deals with disorders of the ear, nose, throat (laryngopharynx), mouth, as well as portions of the trachea and esophagus. An ENT specialist deals with all these different parts of the body because they are all closely connected, both anatomically and functionally.
Symptoms: impaired hearing, a feeling of fullness in the ears, ringing in the ears, ear discharge, ear pain, itchy ears, poor articulation, children crying when their ears are touched, swollen earlobes, etc.
Symptoms: runny nose, stuffy nose, sneezing, nosebleeds, impaired sense of smell, foul odor in the nose, snoring due to nasal conditions, etc.
Symptoms: sore throat, cough, hoarse voice, loss of voice, difficulty breathing, choking on food, snoring, sore tongue, mouth ulcers, impaired taste, swollen tonsils with fever, etc.
Symptoms: spinning sensation, dizziness, feeling unsteady or floating, difficulty walking steadily, loss of balance, etc.
Symptoms: weakness or paralysis on one side of the face, difficulty closing one eye, difficulty speaking, etc.
Symptoms: snoring, breathing cessation during sleep, insufficient rest, excessive daytime sleepiness, inability to concentrate for long periods, etc.
For hoarseness, difficulty producing voice, or vocal fatigue, we examine the movement and vibration of the vocal cords in detail using laryngostroboscopy — details that a standard endoscopic examination alone may not reveal.
Sublingual immunotherapy is a treatment for Japanese cedar pollen allergy and dust mite allergy. Small amounts of the allergen are taken daily under the tongue over several years to reduce allergic sensitivity. Treatment for Japanese cedar pollen allergy is generally started between June and December.
Our clinic can monitor and diagnose the degree and causes of sleep apnea. Since patients can only be monitored while sleeping (at night), this used to require an overnight hospital stay. However, with advances in modern technology, patients can now be monitored in the comfort of their own home. Our clinic offers medical monitoring equipment rental, so feel free to contact us anytime.
We provide CO₂ laser treatment for allergic rhinitis. After local anesthesia, the nasal mucosa is treated with a laser to help reduce nasal obstruction and other allergy symptoms. An initial consultation is required to determine whether the treatment is appropriate for you.
A finger-prick blood test gives results in about 20 minutes for 8 common allergens (ImmunoCAP Rapid) — suitable for children and those who dislike injections. A more detailed venous blood test (View39, up to 39 items) is also available.
We offer influenza vaccination (usually from around October). No appointment is required for the injection. Details for each season are announced on our news page.
